What does it mean to long/short RWAs?
Longing RWAs means betting that a particular Real World Asset will increase in value. If you believe that an RWA is undervalued, you might enter into a contract that allows you to profit if your prediction is correct.
Shorting RWAs means betting that a particular Real World Asset will decrease in value. If you believe that an RWA is overvalued, you might enter into a contract that allows you to profit if your prediction is correct.
Benefits of Longing/Shorting RWAs
Profit from Overvaluation/Undervaluation: If an investor believes that a particular RWA or a segment of the RWA market is undervalued or overvalued, longing or shorting provides a mechanism to profit from a correction in price. This can allow profit-making in various market conditions or when particular RWAs gain or lose value.
Speculative Opportunities: For those with deep knowledge of the RWA market and an appetite for risk, longing/shorting RWAs can provide exciting speculative opportunities. Accurately predicting trends and value changes in the dynamic RWA world can lead to significant profits.
